They celebrate achievement, showcase best practice and inspire greater capital allocation for impact investing in Africa. They also provide a well-researched and comprehensive review of the best examples of impact investing in Africa.\u00a0<\/p><p>The inaugural 2023 Africa Impact Investing Awards set a significant precedent with many nominations and impactful case studies as well as extensive media coverage. It does so by making it easier for organizations to re-shape their internal management practices to put impact and sustainability at the core of their business and company strategy.<\/p><p>The training will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills they need to utilize the SDG Impact Standards to both manage for and measure their SME\u2019s impact and contribution to the SDGs.<\/p><p><strong>About the SDG Impact Standards<\/strong><\/p><p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sdgimpact.undp.org\/practice-standards.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SDG Impact Standards\u00a0<\/a>, developed by UNDP, are the global best practices for operating sustainably and contributing to the SDGs. They provide a universal framework and management approach for the advancement of sustainability and the SDGs amongst businesses, investors, and policy-makers.\u00a0 They provide an overarching decision-making methodology to connect a businesses\u2019 existing frameworks and tools, fill gaps that are slowing down progress towards sustainable operations and contribute positively towards the SDGs.<\/p><p>There is increasing recognition that businesses and investors need best practice management standards to bring all their existing work together. The SDG impact standards are the missing piece of the puzzle.<\/p><p><strong>Target Trainees &amp; Programme Criteria<\/strong><\/p><p>The Impact Measurement and Management Training targets Africa\u2019s sustainability champions and offers a platform for exchange with like-minded SMEs to grow a network of industry leaders committed to moving beyond the SDGs as an add-on to what business gets done, to how business gets done.<\/p><p>The training focuses on registered SMEs with current operations in Africa (in one or more markets) with a demonstrated interest in reducing negative impact and creating positive impact for people and planet.<\/p><p>The training programme is designed for managerial and technical-level representatives with decision making power to integrate sustainability into the organisation\u2019s core . Organisations are encouraged to send multiple representatives\u00a0 whose responsibilities impact key sustainability areas.<\/p><p><strong>Training Programme<\/strong><\/p><p>The 2-day training will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills they need to utilize the SDG Impact Standards and implement the framework within their SMEs. As the National Project Officer at UNDP Omar\u2019s main responsibility is working on Impact investing and Impact measurement and management. Through linking sustainability and impact with the private sector and developing partnerships with impactful investors, Omar is able to support and promote impact investing in Egypt and across the Region. Omar also works on developing impact measurement and management frameworks supporting various investors and enterprises in setting impact and sustainability metrics and frameworks to manage their impact. In addition, Omar is an accredited trainer from UNDP\u2019s SDG Impact and Social Value International on the SDG Impact Standards. He is also responsible for the Insurance and Risk Finance Facility (IRFF) where he works on bridging the gaps between sustainability, inclusive insurance and disaster risk finance. Prior to being with UNDP Omar worked at CID Consulting where he played a key role in private sector development and management consulting of various projects. Omar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. In her previous role as regional director for Africa for international NGO, Reach for Change, and in her private consulting practice she has supported over 100 organisations to design, execute and track the impact of their programs. She is a social entrepreneur with a passion for seeing businesses integrate sustainability in a way that drives that competitive advantage. She has experience in supporting organisations at different stages to increase their impact and scale and become more financially sustainable. She is also skilled at facilitation, training, building partnerships, advocacy, and working with people and teams across cultures.
