Benjamin Meier is a climate finance and innovation expert working with GIZ’s Make-IT in Africa initiative, where he focuses on strengthening climate tech ecosystems and unlocking financing for high-impact startups across Sub-Saharan Africa. He leads efforts under the CATAL1.5°T initiative, supporting SMEs and Start-ups to access blended finance, carbon markets, and scalable investment pathways. With extensive experience at the intersection of entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and climate, Benjamin works closely with investors, governments, and ecosystem players to design mechanisms that enable African ventures to grow, de-risk their business models, and tap into emerging opportunities such as carbon credits and alternative financing.
