Not just about weathering waves—a question of trust and perspective.
Sometimes, if not all times, we just have to take a seat and smile at the storm. For no matter how strong it is, we will agree with God to cross to the other side.
So, we pray to have faith like Jesus, who sleeps in a boat dangerously rocked by angry sea waves and only wakes up to say, “Peace, be still.” So we pray not to have fear like Peter, a fisherman who had been in many storms and had always made it out, yet still said, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?”
The Master cares. We will not perish. He is the one who said, “Let’s cross to the other side.” So, we will agree with Him to cross to the other side. (Ref: Mark 4:35–41)
Here’s the real question:
When storms hit—whether in life or leadership—are we panicking like Peter or resting like Jesus? Are we letting fear dictate our decisions—or modelling calm confidence that reminds our teams the storm will pass? And as leaders, are we stewarding influence in a way that says, “Peace is possible—even here”?
Call to Action:
Take a moment today. Identify one storm you’re facing. Pause. Smile at it. Speak peace over it. And remind your team: storms don’t last forever—the other side is still ahead.
