Leadership Summary

I led the British Council’s delivery of a multi-location initiative designed to address youth migration, entrepreneurship, and employability in Ghana. I built and managed a cross-functional delivery team across three regions, developed implementation frameworks and reporting systems, and coordinated strategic partnerships with government, private sector, and development partners. My role focused on aligning programme delivery with national priorities and ensuring measurable outcomes for youth employment and enterprise development.

Key Activities

Through the programme, I led the team to:

  • Roll out entrepreneurship curriculum and training, business development services (including incubation and acceleration), SME festivals, and a grant facility for youth-led enterprises.
  • Strengthen the capacity of business development service (BDS) providers to deliver youth-responsive support.
  • Oversee monitoring, reporting, and learning systems to inform policy and scale interventions.

Outcomes

The programme supported over 3,000 young people through enterprise and employment training, and provided access to markets, finance, and business development support for over 400 youth-led enterprises. Among those enterprises, 63% reported job creation, with businesses averaging seven employees and reinvestments of GHS 9,285. These results contributed to stronger local entrepreneurship ecosystems and enhanced institutional capacity for youth employment and enterprise programming across Ghana.
