Key Activities
- Supported the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) to evaluate the Female Future Programme (FFP) and identify barriers to women’s advancement in the workforce.
- Developed three position papers, a lobbying agenda, and an action plan to strengthen advocacy for women in leadership.
- Delivered capacity-building training to enhance FUE’s ability to influence policy and legislative reform.
- Provided technical assistance to UGAPAFOCI to support the revision of Uganda’s expired National Culture Policy.
- Conducted a technical review, produced an evidence report, international best practices report, and a revised policy and mobilisation strategy.
- Facilitated sensitisation sessions to promote stakeholder dialogue on gender equality in the cultural sector.
Outcomes
- FUE reported improved capacity to advocate for increased representation of women in top management across sectors.
- The revised Draft Cultural Policy progressed to the Cabinet Secretariat and is pending scheduling for Cabinet consideration, with validation of the Certificate of Financial Implication underway.
- UGAPAFOCI successfully influenced an increased national budget allocation of UGX 60 billion for the 2025–2026 financial year to support the growth and development of Uganda’s creative sector.
