Not just about colours—a question of resilience and support.
The chair reminded me of “the coat of many colours,” so I nicknamed it “chair of many colours.” The truth is, life itself is filled with many colours. Some give us bright days. Others give us dark days.
There was a season when I was in and out of the hospital. There was a season when I was in enjoyable meet-ups.
When the “dark days” come, how do you push through as you wait for the bright days? For me, I have learnt to ask for help and to receive help. So, when the “dark days” come, I ask for help and receive help to push through. For soon, the bright days will come again.
Leadership is like that. Seasons change. Challenges come. And sometimes, resilience isn’t about standing alone—it’s about stewarding relationships and trusting that the season will shift. Progress may feel delayed, but purpose is never lost. (Ref: Ecclesiastes 3:1; Ecclesiastes 4:9–10)
Here’s the real question:
Are we modelling what it means to ask for help when needed—or are we letting pride keep us stuck in the dark days? Are we creating cultures where teams feel safe to seek support—or expecting them to push through alone? And as leaders, are we reminding others that seasons change—and bright days will come again?
Call to Action:
Take a moment today. Identify one area where you need help—and ask for it. Then, look around your team. Who needs support to push through their “dark days”? Offer it. Because leadership isn’t just about strength—it’s about stewardship of hope.
