Not just about roles—a question of integration and impact.
Monday is here. Time to put on the work clothes and minds. The spiritual ones? We’ll pick those up over the weekend—after the work week.
But Joseph won’t get the memo. Neither will Daniel. So, they’ll show up at work with their gifts. And they will use these gifts to tell their bosses what needs to be done.
It will be good that they don’t receive the memo. Because if they do, their promotion won’t come. Nations won’t be saved from hunger. Famous kingdoms won’t be built.
Time moves fast now. The weekend will soon be here. And when it comes, we’ll pack the qualifications—the BScs, MScs, PhDs, Esq, PMP, MSP, CA—and put on the spiritual clothes and minds.
But Bezalel won’t get the memo. Neither will Aholiab. So, they’ll show up at church with their skills and qualifications. And they’ll use these qualifications to tell their church leaders what needs to be done.
It will be good that they don’t receive the memo. Because if they do, it will be difficult to build the tabernacle. And even if it’s built, it won’t be as beautiful or as excellent as it was meant to be. (Ref: Genesis 41; Daniel 2; Exodus 31:1–11, 35:30–35)
So, here’s the real question:
Will we receive the memo—or will we show up at work with our gifts and at church with our qualifications? And to the bosses and church leaders: Will we keep sending the memo—or will we make room for the gifts to be used at the workplace and the qualifications at church?
Call to Action:
Pause today. Ask yourself: Where have I separated what God gave me from where He placed me? Then commit to showing up fully—gifts at work, qualifications in worship—because both matter for building what lasts.
